WE'VE CREATED A MONSTER! MONSTERS OF ROCK (Ronington) On behalf of Sue, Marc, Amy, and myself, I'd like to say a big thank you to the following: Our tireless production team Les Routledge, Ray Macdonald, Magic Marty, Liam Ward, Paul & Matty Knight and Shorty, who all put in a full 12 hour shift. Everyone who generously donated raffle prizes, some of the stuff on offer was just amazing, no wonder the tickets ran out! Not forgetting our wonderful sales girls, Valerie Brown, Val Tippins, Morag Knight, & The Rock-hungry hordes who bought their tickets and came from afar on pink coaches. To have that Hall packed out at 3pm brought a lump to my throat, and turned this event into a real rip-roaring party. There was such a genuine vibe of good will in the air. This, more than the money raised, was the most important thing. And speaking of money, would just like to mention Paul Watson and the Civic Hall team, who provided this bona-fide professional venue, complete with sound system for a fee of £0.00 and took 0% commission on all the tickets they sold. And finally the bands themselves. To put aside a Saturday night is pretty special, but not ONE of them would accept even fuel expenses for the trip. Without exception they exemplified the spirit of this event and put on one hell of a show! Guards Of Eden, The Silence, Big River, The Last Fakers, Presence, The Karma Heart, The Force, Sabbatica, Black Rose, and of course my own guys John Dawson & Ian Halford. Thank You All. Russ
We are honoured to be part of a TEN band all-day Rock concert at Shildon Civic Hall next February in aid of cancer research. This has some personal meaning for us as we lost a good friend and follower - Ronnie Patchett - to cancer last year. The concert will fall on the first anniversary of his passing and all proceeds will go to The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. * All advance tickets now sold out. On the day there will be a limited amount available at the door on a "first come first served" basis, so please get there no later than 3.30 to be sure of getting in. Announcement: We've been invited to play the main stage at Hebden Blues Festival 2012, Hebden Bridge, W. Yorkshire on Sunday 3rd June. Can't wait! Check out the latest video - recorded in Nottingham during our little tour last month. We love it! Many thanks to Robert Balmer and Adrien Perrie.
